Had my tortoises a month now and all seems well but today Boo a 6 year old Herman passed a large quantity of pink coloured urine.  I understand that dandelions can change the colour of urine but I am obviously concerned that there may be something wrong.  I may take to the vet anyway but any advice gratefully received.

It may be something it has eaten, or it may have urinated shortly after defacating, hence a brownish tinge. I assume that they are living outside most days (?).

Play safe, but rather than take it to a vet, perhaps arrange to have a fairly fresh urine sample tested.

Also discuss with the previous owners.
