Hello, I think my hermanns 2 year old tortoise is female? can anyone help on this ine?

Hi, as Jane has answered on a previous post, it is impossible to sex a tortoise at 2 years, they do not sexually mature until at least 6 years old.

Thanks for posting the photos, I have had a look but the photo is very small it wont enlarge, so its very hard to see.  It does look from the size of your tortoise to your hand as tho it is quite big to be 2 years old, did you have anypaper work with it?

Many thanks for your advice. I have a birth certificate which I got with my little tort. The birth certificate says 2010 hatchling. He is 109g. Do you think that is large?

I havent named him yes as I would have liked to have known the sex to pick a name but I willl decide on a name for male or female.

I have been concetrating on giving him a good diet and learning how to look after him properly, I have ordered wild tort seeds and have checked they are all edable as stated. I would like my little tort to have a nice life.
