please could anyone tell me if my tortoise is a hermanns or a horsefield. We were not told when it was given to us.

Hi there. You have Horsefield's tortoise. The 4 claws on front feet are specific to this type. If you look at the left hand options and click on The Tortoise, you will find care sheets,and on reading about Horsefield's you will see photos and info to confirm...looks like a good example, as his shell is well-formed.

Thank you so much for your help. I have only had the tortoise a week and i want to research everything i can to be able to give the best possible home. I am already besotted. I will take a look now at the care sheet.
