alright I know you are all going to think this is a stupid Q but I know torts do not Like dogs and consider them threats but because my parents have a dog should I keep my tort to the confines of my room and keep the door closed?

Hi there, I would always keep dogs and torts separate. As well as the risk of chewing and biting, they could also pass worms to each other, I think. I have read of long-term trustworthy dogs eating long-term torty "friends". Better to be safe than sorry. However, your torty would benefit from time outdoors in a covered enclosure, with access to shade. Natural U/V light is really good for your torty. Your question was one which many people wish they had asked... before disasters occurred. Regards, David nr York.
