Hello.

I was given my horsefield tortoise at the end of January and I know he didn't hibernate last winter, and I am pretty sure he hasn't hibernated before. I think he is 2 ish. Should I hibernate him this winter or wait until I have had him a year?

Do you know the full history? if not then I would not hibernate, it is best to see how they are health and weight wise before hiberating. What sort of conditions did they come from?

He was a present and I don't know the history except that he came from a pet shop.
