Hi Sarah. First of all, well done for trying to find the owner. For now, you need to click on the dark green box on LHS of this page entitled The Tortoise. Read the care sheets, and look at the photos to try and identify the species. Beware of "chancers", once the word gets around. Somehow you will have to establish whether you trust any claimant to be the right owner. Ideally, they would have a photo of his shell or accomodation, and be able to describe him in detail and/or show paperwork is he is not a long-term captive. Have you tried the police...owner may believe he was stolen and have reported his loss. Also check the Lost or found box on LHS of this page. Look for details as to how to contact John Hayward...thinks thats his name. Do keep us up to date please. Somewhere his real owner will be in a stressed state. Regards, David nr York.

I have lost my tortoise about that time. I was hoping he hibernated somewhere and would wake up now its spring. Sadly he has not been found. I live in Paignton in Devon. I have photos of him to prove ownership.
