Is there a safe slug killer to use in a garden with a free ranging tortoise?

Hi there. I can think of two methods, safe for tortoises: 1. Hand picking...boring and impractical 2. Yoghurt pots of beer inaccessible to torts. The slugs and snails will die happy or with very little suffering...I hope. Any poisons will be a risk to all garden inhabitants, as poisons pass through the food chain due to dead slugs being consumed. Hope this helps! Regards, David nr York.

Hi If it is for the pots, you can buy copper strips which I have all around my flower pots, and then I do as David said, the laborious task of hand picking, putting them all together and dropping them off over the field...
