I have a horsfield tortoise who is 3 years old. When having a wee earlier I noticed he stood high on his legs and it appeared as though his inside had come out. I noticed that someone else had written in a couple of years back with a similar problem. Although it has gone back in, it took a minute or so, and my tortoise seems fine now, I do think it could be a prolapse. Is this common? I live near Leicester. Can you recommend a local vet.

Just it's penis I expect.
If you ever do need a specialist vet, there's one at Sileby, just down the road. If you bought it from a pet shop/dealer/centre - very risky!!! Get it checked anyway.

I have the same problem with my tortoise I've seen his penis and its white but what's cuming out of him often is bright purple and verry big I'm not sure what I should do as I don't want to take him to a crappy bet around my area

It does sound like hi penis if it goes in after a minute or two:-)
