rcd for lighting
Posted: 01/04/2013 by Hazel S

Hi
Thanks to Darren I now have the right lighting set up but I've noticed that the rcd I plug the lamp into is getting hot after about 7hours. The lamp is plugged into the rcd which is plugged into an extension socket to reach Basil's enclosure.
Any advice

thanks
Hazel

Sorry Hazel - I've no idea. If it's an rcd it should trip if there is a problem - unless the rcd is faulty?

Thanks for the reply Darren. I took the rcd back to the shop, they assured me it was normal but I switched anyway to an extension lead with an rcd plug which is much better. Basil is up and about, eating, basking and doing despicable things to his cork bark!

Hahaha:-)
Glad you managed to get sorted. No point having something if you feel uneasy about it - no matter how normal someone says it is:-)
