Outside heating / enclosure Posted: 11/04/2013 by thequietman1977 |

Hi all
New to the forum and some interesting reading. I am looking for advice regarding setting up for getting a Hermanns Tortoise. I do not have a tortoise as of yet, but i really want one. I live in Dumfries, south west Scotland and as such the weather here is cool and wet but i still think i can provide a good home for a tortoise. We have plenty of space outside for an enclosure and inside for a large tort table if needed. I think i have most of the topics covered and like when I got my hens (I have chickens btw!!) The one question i really have is regarding outside enclosures. Basically I want to know if a cold frame is enough of a heat source during the day, trapping the heat for a tort, or if it would need an electric heat source as well. Any information anyone can give me would be much appreciated. | |
