A cold frame is a good idea, but you would have to be v. careful about ventilation, or it could be a death-trap in summer. It would need wood or brick sides - not glass & placing N. of your enclosure to avoid shading it. Note - glass filters out UV.. Alternatives exist. Avoid other heat, use your proposed indoor set up. T. hermanni don't need high temps. constantly. On the odd cold day in summer they don't eat much, if anything, but neither do they burn up cals.. A green-house is a great asset to any tort. keeper. A 6x4x6feet (high) mini-poly tunnel is equally good, - some v. good deals online. Chicks & torts don't mix. | ||
