Sheldon has a bad leg :( Posted: 21/06/2013 by SheldonBlake |

Hi, we recently got given a Hermann tortoise by an old schoolfriend of my dads, due to it being nipped by the other tortoises in its viv. It had sustained a small bite mark on its bum, next to its right leg, and it has gone very red and sore. It looks a bit like a red blister. It has now stopped using its right leg to walk with and only uses its left. I am slightly worried as i think it is in pain and would like to do anything i can to make it comfortable. Does anybody know a good way to treat a tortoise bite on another tortoise, and how to soothe it so it stops limping? (Extra details: 2 years old, doesn't eat often even though food is there, doesnt drink often even when you put it in front of water) Thank you! | |
