Hello i really need some advise. i rehomed a spur thighed tortoise one week ago and today took him to the vets becuase i believed he didnt weight enougth which i was right he does need to put on weight but also the vet said his shell was slightly deformed but becuase hes 4 years old and its only slight he can hopefully grow out of it.
he's how on a vierty diet of different leaves and flowers which inculd different lettuces (not iceburg) and have got some supplment powerd as he hasnt touched his cuttule fish. is there anything else i can do? also what long term effects will it have on him if it doesnt?
Hello, On what basis did the vet say it's below weight ? Which powder ? Where is it living ? I'd avoid any sort of lettuce, there is an abundance of wild plants in summer. Can you post a few pics of it please so that any slight deformity can be seen. It's good to see that you are keen to get things right. It's a real privilege to have a tortoise isn't it ? Regards Tom
