I'm new to the forum and looking for some advice. I intend breeding my Marginated tortoises for the first time this year and have looked on the forum for instructions on building an incubator. I have everything ready but have one question, does the heat mat need isolating from the base of the polystyrene box? Will it get too hot to be in direct contact so should I perhaps sit it on a sheet of glass? Any advice would be most welcome.
