I'm new to the forum and looking for advice. I intend breeding my Marginated tortoises this year and have looked at the instructions on this forum for making an incubator. I have everything ready but have one question, should I put the heat mat directly on the bottom of the polystyrene box or should I isolate it in some way? I am concerned the mat will get too hot and wondered whether I should perhaps put it onto a sheet of glass. Any advice would be welcome.
