We are interested in purchasing a Tortoise but wonder if it may be more suitable to get a slightly older one rather than a baby (as this would be our first reptile pet) and we also have two cats.

Please could you advise and also give an idea of cost for varying ages? Are there any recommended places that we could investigate a re-homed tortoise? If you have a slightly older tortoise. Is it true that the need for a vivarium is less as they grow older? (I may be wrong as we are just starting our research.)
