Hi, I'm thinking of getting a tortoise. Are there any pros/cons to either sex? At what age are they able to be sexed and how is this done? Many thanks to anyone that can help. Kalli | |

Hello, If you have just one then there's very little difference. There is a slight chance that a single female will lay eggs, but this is rare. They can't be 'sexed' until 4 or 5 years of age, unless grown on far too quickly. Regards, Tom | |
