Heating for outdoors

Hi
I have a 2 year old marginated tortoise. I am looking at purchasing a cold frame after taking on board the many benefits. What I'm not clear about is how to provide heating/light during our winter months or on cold ones even in the summer. I assume that I will need seperate housing to suspend the bulb and will that be waterproof? Whatever the housing 'Sid' will then have access to the garden by means of a ramp.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Kind Regards Pat

Hello,

Firstly this winter it can hibernate for 3mths. Next year 4 months, the next year 5months.

A greenhouse would be much better if you want to provide occasional heating. Use a qualified electrician.

Why the ramp ?

Thank you for your reply and apologies for the delay in responding. I have spent some time researching hibernation as my breeder had informed me it was not essential and entirely up to me. From what I have read I can see now the benefits and will take your advice.
Unfortunately the structure of our garden will not allow the greenhouse option so the cold frame seems to be second best. I had looked at some purpose built houses suitable to take a heat lamp and most had a ramp.
