I have just been advised about this and don't recall seeing anything about stolen torts on our forums. Can we please keep an ear and eye out for any torts being offered for sale.

These poor owners must be going spare.

Thanks for alerting us to this, Amanda! This is so sad -- I can't imagine what those poor people are going through. We have now put a notice about this in the Lost and Found section of this website (with the link that you gave us to the newspaper story). Let's hope that they catch the evil people who did this and that the tortoises are recovered. I wonder if they have contacted John Hayward of the National Theft Register (his details are the first item in the Lost and Found section).
