Morning, Have just identified Cockoo Flower which appears to be growing in abundance in my back garden. Many one know if this is safe to give to horsefield torts? Zoe

I'm not sure Zoe but I'll try to find out for you. It is however, one of the host feeding plants for the orange tipped butterfly apparently; so it might be OK, but until we're sure the best advice is to leave it out. Helen

Will keep an eye out for the butterflies. I've got the white version as well which according to my book is quiet rare. I feel so special now. Small things please small minds. Zoe

Hi Zoe If the Cardamine pratensis is the variety of cuckoo flower you have found then both the leaves and flowers should be edible. See this link: http://tinyurl.com/coa5tl Helen
