Hi, I think I replied to your first posting about this in another section of the forum. Here is a link to that thread: http://www.tortoise-protection-group.org.uk/site/130.asp?tID=3463 and I hope it was of some help. It is a big decision, so hopefully others will come on and give their opinions. What ever your decision, it's really good that you are giving it serious consideration instead of just purchasing a tortoise on a whim. If you do decide to get a tortoise, we'll be here to answer any questions you might have and give you all the help we can. Nina

Hi indiekid 123, my son has just got 2 hatchlings from a breeder off the list on here. We did a lot of research into this before getting them due to the expense and looking after them isnt like our previous pets of rabbits and hamster. I must say though weve had them a week and half and already there a huge part of the family, Bolt is quite the little rascal where as sparkey is as laid back as my son is. My son is 11 and seems to be taking on the responsability quite well (after a rocky start though). There is loads of very helpful advise on here which helped us start up. We house our's in a indoor rabbit cage with a mega ray lamp from Kimbos ( again recommended on here and Darren at kimbos is very helpful). All the best , Paula
