Bathing
Posted: 10/07/2009 by malcolm

I now have my babies and all have settled in quite well except for one I am sure it thinks it is a turtle as it seems to enjoy walking through the water pool I have put in there home/table this morning he/she went into the pool 5 or 6 times in the space of an hour this was after I had gave the babies there daily bath and after feeding.

Is this normal behaviour or could it be a sign of a underlying problem.

Hi Malcolm,

I'm sure it's merely a case of her being an active one and is checking out her new enclosure. She will no doubt settle down in time:-)

Please keep us updated on their progress.

All the Best
Darren

Thanks Darren he is very active.
We all find them fascinating to watch even the children this morning stayed away from the TV and sat eating there breakfast watching them appear from there sleeping quarters.
Jake is very active and also very hungry I will have to keep a close eye on him and the amount he is eating other than that they all seem quite happy in there new home.

Glad to hear they have settled down Malcolm. I tend to find it's a good idea to add the hungry/more dominant tortoise to the feeding area after the others have eaten a little first, otherwise they take the lion's share, eat all the others food, and grow a lot quicker than the others.

Nice to hear they are doing so well:-)

Hi Malcolm
That made me chuckle, I could envisage these little faces peering over their breakfast bowls around the table, mystified by these little shelled beings.
Your little ones sound gorgeous, any postings of them yet in the gallery?
