Ibera Sussex and Hermanns Sussex Posted: 12/07/2009 by tpgarlene |

Hello We have been asked to find a new home for an adult male Ibera and an adult female hermanns located in Sussex. They are both much loved, and have been with their current owner for the last 20 years, but due to a change in circumstances, their owner feels it would be better to find new homes for them. They are currently living together, but will be rehomed separately, the owner tell us that neither tortoise has any health issues, and would prefer that the tortoises are rehomed in the South of England if possible. The hermanns is around 2.7kg and the Ibera around 1.2kg, photos to follow. If you would like to offer one of these tortoises a new home, please contact the rehoming team at rehoming@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk with the email subject line 'Ibera - Sussex' or 'Hermanns - Sussex'. Please do not apply through this forum. The rehoming application form can be found in the Rehoming Section of this website, you will need to download it into your documents, complete it and attach it to your email. Any problems, please let us know, and if you have already completed an application, please let us know when you apply. Please note: There is no fee charged for re-homing but we hope that if you are successful in your application, you will consider adonation to help towards the TPG's work. Please be assured that any donation no matter how small will be spent working towards making a lasting difference to tortoises. Not all tortoises that we have Arlene TPG

Hi Arlene, I have just spoken with our I.T. manager at work and it would appear the e-mail i sent last night will fail to get through. He has explained where I am going wrong, so I will e-mail the rehoming team this evening. Please don't think I'm not interested in this female as I am very keen. I would love to pair her up with my old male.
Kind Regards barry.

Hi Barry We do like to give everyone interested the chance to apply, so I am only just beginning to go through the applications received now, but it is not too late for anyone who has only just seen the notice on the forum and who still wants to submit an application. Unfortunatley we dont have the resource to keep individuals updated on progress, we do acknowledge all applications, and request further information when needed. Once the new home has been chosen and approved by the owner, we announce the sucessful rehoming on both this and the Yahoo forum, as well as notifying everyone who has applied by email - so please bear with us! all the best Arlene TPG

Just thought I ought to confirm that "lost" as in died - not missing. Zena.

Hi Sorry it has taken so long to give you all an update, and a huge thank you to everyone who applied to rehome these tortoises. The female hermanns was collected at the weekend and is now settling into her new home with one of our members. It was a really difficult decision for the owner to give up her tortoises, when it came down to it, it was too much of a wrench and she has decided to keep the male ibera. all the best Arlene TPG
