Hello everyone! I just want to spread the word about a tortoise I found on saturday in the maidenhead area crossing a road! I'm more than happy to keep him but am spreading the word incase theres a worried owner looking for him! He's a male hermann's thought to be around 7 years old with some quite bad pyramiding on his shell (well its overlapping in some places im not too experienced with pyramiding)! I've informed the vet I took him to (I don't live in maidenhead) and I called a vet in maidenhead earlier and the rspca and maidenhead police that I've found him on monday but no news as of yet!

Thank you for posting this, it is a keepers worst nightmare loosing a beloved tortoise. Have you contacted John Hayward 01869 325699 or jh@ntr.supanet.com I think I am right in saying he is a retired policeman with an interest in tortoises and runs a very up to date database on lost and found tortoises. If you need any help in IDing this tortoise and how to best care for him/her PLEASE just ask away. You are doing a grand job so far! Elaine

Thankyou very much I shall email him now! I have taken some pictures of him so i'll attempt adding them! As soon as we found him we were round the corner from a garden centre that are very good with tortoises and they ID'd him but it would be great to get a second opinion! and to know how bad his pyramiding is as I have seen worse but it is overlapping in some places!
