Hello, I have 2 Hermanns and I love them to pieces! I enjoy looking at the different tortoises on the gallery and reading the posts, I learn a lot from those posts. Thanks for the welcome. Kerry

Hi there, I regularly go along to the "Just me & my tortoise" group meetings in Keston, Hayes way. It's a really friendly group with tortoise and turtle keepers form beginners to experts. They have a guest speaker at each meeting which is always good and you can have a chat afterwards. The next one is this Saturday, the subject of the talk is hibernation and the speaker is Mark Rowland, a very experienced tortoise vet. The meetings are usually every 2 months and well worth a visit. You can get details from:

Hi Kerry, I'm fairly new to this site too, Great isnt it?! As yet I don't own a Tortoise but am trying to learn as much as possible before I do. I too am from Kent, Dartford. If you want to know anything, just ask, they are so helpful here! What do you feed your two on? I am a little confused as there is so much confliction on what they can and can't eat.

Hi, yes my two are my first, I find them easy to look after and so full of character! the way they look up at me and breathe faster when they see me is really sweet. Good luck with your tortoise, hope you get much pleasure from looking after your little one when he/she comes along :)

Hi Vivienne, I am going to start buying all the equipment shortly. I'm not using a viv! I will use one of those large rabbit cages from Pets at home. I am going to get the Mega Ray bulb and shade next week.
