I am a bit worried as Brian my Russian, has not poohed at all since Saturday. I've had him for four weeks now, he is nearly 3 and he has never poohed much. When should I start worrying. I am giving him daily warm baths and his urates are fine, he always does this in bath but no pooh. I've also never seen any evidence of him weeing. Thanks in advance,

Hi Helen, try not to worry, torts do have a slow metabolism, as long as he is bright in himself and eating he is ok.  You are doing the right thing by bathing him, if after a couple more days you are still worried try giving him some aloe vera that usually makes them go!!  Regarding the weeing, he will be doing this in the bath when he passes the urates..

Thanks for the reply, didn't realise they weed when the passes the urates!  I've learnt something new! When you say give him some aloe vera, do you mean a leaf from a plant?

Finally one great big smelly pooh - what relief (and that's just me!!)

He wouldn't eat the aloe vera - totally ignored it!
