Hi - what sort of tortoise is he, and how are you keeping him at the moment ie housing, lighting, temperature?

Hi Sherri,

I'm very surprised your vet told you to put him back in the fridge. There may well be underlying problems and that is why your tortoise hasn't eaten. Putting him back in the frgdige is not the answer at all. If your tortoise has RNS he needs to be kept warm in order that his immune syestem can fight the infection. May I ask who the vet was please?

Kindest Regards
Darren

Hi Sherri,

Apologies if I have misread your posts, but you had to get your tortoise up early as his nose was bubbling, he was up for 9 days, not eating and you have put him back in the fridge?  I really think you should get him up asap, there must have been a reason why his nose was runny and he didnt want to eat, and putting a tortoise back into hibernation after he has woken can cause all sorts of problems. Please see the article on waking a tortoise from hibernation - it is essential to get this right as the tortoise will need to be able to bask and warm himself up before he will want to eat.  It is also very important to bath him and encourage him to drink to rehydrate himself after hibernation, and also flush out any toxins which may have built up.
