hello one of my 2 years has been in the fidges now for 5 weeks but i had too take him out 2 days ago as he started bulbbing at the nose so he he didnt look very well but he been out for 2 days now and hasnt eatten how long does it take them too eat when they wake up the other are still sleeping it just justin that didnt do very well | |

just too let you know i had justin all check out and he was just kept warm and it only took 3 days for him too get better and because he was so sleeply and he wouldnt eat or drink after 9 days the vet told me too put him back in the fridge and so far he been in there a week now and he doing fine so 2nd time lucky but he would have done 7 weeks this week but haveing been took out it will be 6 and all the other are doing great too thank you very much for your help | |

Hi Sherri, Apologies if I have misread your posts, but you had to get your tortoise up early as his nose was bubbling, he was up for 9 days, not eating and you have put him back in the fridge? I really think you should get him up asap, there must have been a reason why his nose was runny and he didnt want to eat, and putting a tortoise back into hibernation after he has woken can cause all sorts of problems. Please see the article on waking a tortoise from hibernation - it is essential to get this right as the tortoise will need to be able to bask and warm himself up before he will want to eat. It is also very important to bath him and encourage him to drink to rehydrate himself after hibernation, and also flush out any toxins which may have built up. HTH Arlene TPG | |
