Hi there, I use the Readers Digest book of Wild Flowers. Its quite small (so you can carry it around) but has over 400 UK wild plants illustrated and described. Its about £8 in WH Smiths.

Dave K... Hi.. I am interested in this book, I was wondering if you are able to pop a pic on here of this book so I can see what the front looks like..I had quick look online and the search was a bit confusing. I want to make sure I find the right one :) Thanks

Hmm, I cant find a picture of the cover online. Its a small book about 6 inches square, 500 pages with a close up picture of a red Poppy on the cover. The pictures inside are drawings (very accurate drawings) rather than photographs and the plants are grouped by flower colour which is useful. Hope this helps.

Thats the one! As I said it has drawings rather than photo's but still very accurate with good descriptions (and cheap). The website linked above is also an excellent reference.
