Hi everyone, I am a bit worried about one of my 3 year old Hermann torts.
I am just approching the 3 week wind down stage and have just bathed and weighed them.The little one I am concerned about weighed 207g on the 24th November at the start of wind down but today nearly 3 weeks in she weighs 179g so she has lost 28g in less than 3 weeks.Is this ok? My other 3 torts have lost between 19g and 14g.
They have just over another week in wind down and then will be hibernated in the fridge.

Hi Sharon,

It's difficult to gauge how much weight they lose in wind-down as it depends on how much food they have in their stomachs at the beginning of wind-down.
Are you using the 5 day week wind-down or doing the full 4 weeks please?

At this weight I would tend to wind-down for a three week period. Has your tortoise had any bough movements at all recently?
