Help !!!
Posted: 07/01/2010 by KiKi

Hey fellow T-Lovers.
I would like advise and even help if you can help me. I have a Geochelone Sulcata named Lynford. He has been with me for 11years 30th January 2010.

My situation is that we lived in Dubai, UAE and I had to leave for good urgently. Please know that if I had had the option to have stayed in Dubai I woul...d have. Lynford is still there with close friends whilst I make arrangements.

I got Lynford in Dubai, 30 Jan 1999 and he is simply My Rock. He has obviously grown into a big rock, yet he is still My Rock of over 20kgs now
.
I need to know who to contact about him coming here to Lancashire, England.
I am trying to get info from Defra, animal health.gov, customs.gov websites and others, although I feel i'm running in a circle.

My professional email address is kristyannmcqueen@hotmail.com.
I look forward to your advise and wish you all a Super 2010 xxx

Defra are the right people to be talking to. I found this on their website at:

http://www.defra.gov.uk/foodfarm/animaltrade/imports/iins/livebalai/bal_live_8.htm

Pet reptiles
Reptiles are cold-blooded, egg-laying vertebrates, e.g. snakes and tortoises.

"There are no animal health import requirements for pet reptiles. These animals can be brought into the UK as long as they are accompanied by their owner and a letter from a vet or the owner stating that the animals are fit and healthy to complete the journey"

The only sticking point I can see is the "as long as they are accompanied by their owner".

Hope you can get this sorted out and you are reunited with Lynford.
