hi im a bit worried about scoop everytime i bath her and dry her off underneath and pop her back in her enclosure she seems to pull her head quickly back in her shell and squeeks before coming back out and wiping her face with her leg she does this only for a few mins then toddles off as normal. the water is always warm not too warm and never too deep. can any one shine a light on whats wrong?.

As long as your tortoise doesnt have a runny nose or is gaping with its mouth open, this is probably fine. The squeak you hear when the tortoise pulls its head in is air escaping the lungs through the nostrils. Theres a limited amount of space in a tortoise shel so when the head is drawn in rapidy, the lungs compress and air is forced out. Also when drinking tortoises can drink via their nostrils as well as the mouth ( the two are connected), I've seen tortoises doing the wiping of the nose after a bath or a drink.

My Teddy does this when my hand goes near him lol, it's like he is hissing at me. I dont think its a hiss from his mouth, think its air noise as he pulls his head in really fast.Is it because he's scared or is it normal?

This is quite normal, they tend to do it less as they become accustomed to you:-)
