Hey guys, apologies this has probably been discussed many times before but I couldn't find exactly the answer I was after so thought I would start a new post! I want to get a friend for JD somewhere down the line and I know it shouldnt be a female but what if I were to get another male? is it recommended or not, he is definately a boy and has been estimated to be almost 9 years old

Hi, sorry for the delay getting back to you, as he is definitely male, it would be best to get female but he would more than likely pester a single female, so the best ratio is 3 females to one male!!! Best not to put him with another male as they may fight. They are solitary animals, so it wouldnt bother him being on his own. Hope this helps, regards Vivienne

Thankyou for getting back to me :) I will definately have to have a long think before I decide on 3 more tortoises! Is it best to get them all of a similar age?
