Hello can anybody help, I have recently got a five year old male spur thighed, when he poo's its very runny and sorry to say he farts, he also sleeps a lot should i be worried about him, the person who i got him from died and the family were just getting rid of him

any advice would be great

Hi Sarah, it sounds as though he is being fed the wrong foods.  He should be fed on 100% weeds such a dandelions, plantains and there are some garden plants. Could you tell me a bit more about how you are keeping the tortoise, ie. what sort of enclosure, the substrate you are using, lighting and heating.

I t may also be wise to have his poo sample checked by a vet for worms or parasites.

Bathe him regularly in shallow warm water to keep him hydrated.
