missing horsfield

I'm heartbroken to say that Danni my horsfield is missing. She has been gone since Wednesday afternoon. The garden has been torn apart looking for her. Please could you keep your ears open. John Hayward has been informed.

Hi Winnie,

We searched for one of our Iberas for over a week once, until we eventually found her. She had dug down in the flower bed then under the lawn. Quite a digger for an Ibera.....Horsfields, of course, do dig much more competently.....so don't give up hope she'll pop up. If there is anything we can do to help Winnie, just let us know. We're more than happy to place a photo on our website, asking for people to keep an eye out, or though our other groups.

Fingers crossed she'll turn up safe and sound.

Take Care
Darren

Winnie, you must be devastated!

Do not lose heart...around 40 years ago, I lost a small spur-thighed for over a month. Eventually, one day on a very hot evening I heard some rustling in the ivy growing up our 100 year old garden wall. Torty was 4 feet above ground level, and well and truely stuck in the tangle of old ivy stems! I would never have believed it unless I had seen it!. Remember Horsefields are known for digging in. Here in York it has been exceptionally hot for weeks, perhaps torty wants some cool! Do not give up hope...and remember that most folk are totally honest and reliable, and will want to find the owner if they find her. Sincere best wishes from David nr York.

Thank you very much. She's very distinctive due to a split/extra front scute. Here's a pic of her.....
