Lost Tortoise - Dunstale, Bedfordshire
Posted: 25/05/2011 by Augustus

Our pet tortoise Augustus went missing from a garden near Watling Lower School, Dunstable on the 23rd May 2011. He is quite athletic so could have traveled some distance.

He has been with our family for nearly 30 years so any information leading to his recovery very much appreciated. Please call 07789 200677. Thank you.

Some good news - Augustus has now been found.

He walked into a garden in the next street from us earlier today, and is now safely home. He's a bit weak, a bit slow and very hungry but thankfully has not been injured.

Still not totally sure how he got out as the garden is very secure and we put him away at night. Would love to have seen his escape act.

Anyway, he was missing for a month so I hope this gives hope to others looking for missing pets.

(He can be removed from the lost page now.)

Thanks

Seems I was too quick to reply. The found tortoise was very similar but turned out not to be ours. He is now back with his correct owner but sadly Augustus is still missing.
