New clutch
Posted: 19/06/2011 by kazza

Our spur thighed tort caught us by surprise yesterday and laid 9 eggs. Last summer she laid 6 but they came to nothing. This time, we took them from the nest (as soon as she had finished and wandered away) and put them in the incubator which we quickly had up and running. They are now at a temperature of 30C with 85% humidity. Just a couple of questions:-

Should we candle them this time?

They are in the incubator in the garage, would the bright light (which we put on sometimes) cause any problems?

Does the fact that last years eggs weren't fertile have any impact on these?

Really hope we are lucky this time!!
