Just looked at the british tortoise society web site - they have in their picture gallery vivariums suitable for torts up to 2 years old and 4years old, surely this is wrong? Or have I just misread it???

No you have not misread it. I always go by logic and tanks are for fish, gardens and open top pens with soil are for tortoises. The problem with viv's is, where can you get a cool area? and the humidity, which can cause respiratory problems, anyway I have attached a link for you to read, it is interesting reading, let us know what you think about it?

Thanks, I quite agree that vivs are not suitable for torts, I just can't believe that a group offering advice on Torts is still recommending vivs.

Personally I have built my own table and outdoor for my tort when we finally get one lol.
